✦ Terms & Conditions ✦
The fine print.
A friendly handshake — these are the terms that govern your use of artisanhouse.in and the candles, magnets, and gifts we send out into the world.
We've kept these terms short and human. Most of it is the same common-sense agreement you'd expect between a small studio and the people who buy what it makes. Read it once, then forget it — we'll do right by you.
— with care, Artisan House

How to think about this page
These terms aren't meant to trip you up — they're a clear handshake between you and our studio.
Tiny variations between pieces are not flaws — they're the signature of something made by hand.
Anything below feel ambiguous? Email us — we'll walk you through it in plain words.
Governed by Indian law, with disputes settled in Varanasi — our home, where the wax pours.
Who you're agreeing with

Who can shop
To place an order on our site, you confirm that:
- You're at least 18 years old (or have a parent placing the order with you)
- You're legally capable of entering into a contract under Indian law
- The name, address, and contact details you've shared are accurate — couriers need them to find your door
What we make
Our catalogue is a small, evolving collection of handmade things — soy-wax candles, hand-poured tealights, painted ceramic magnets, gift sets, custom commissions, and the occasional limited-edition seasonal piece.
Because each piece is made (and sometimes hand-painted) one at a time:
- Two candles from the same batch may differ slightly in colour, wax surface, or scent intensity
- Photos on our site are taken in natural light — your screen and your home light may render colours differently
- Availability depends on artisan capacity, so a beloved piece may be out of stock for a week or two
- We may quietly retire a product if a material becomes unsustainable, and may add new ones as the seasons turn
Pricing
All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (₹) and include GST where applicable. Shipping costs (if any) appear at checkout — we never sneak charges into a confirmation email.
Prices may shift over time as the cost of wax, oils, or ceramics changes. If a pricing typo ever lets a candle slip out for ₹1, we reserve the right to cancel and refund — and we'll apologise with a discount code.
Orders & payments
Your order is confirmed the moment payment lands. Until then, items in your cart are "saved with intent" but not reserved.
All payments run through secure third-party gateways (Razorpay, UPI apps, and similar). We do not store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or banking credentials — those stay with the gateway under their compliance.
We may cancel an order if we discover suspected fraud, a clear pricing error, a stockout that we missed, or anything that puts our makers at risk. In every such case, you get a full refund and an explanation.
Shipping & delivery
Orders are hand-packed in tissue and recycled kraft, with a thank-you note tucked inside. Delivery timelines, zones, and fees are detailed in our Shipping Policy.
Once your parcel leaves our studio, it travels via trusted courier partners. We provide tracking on the way; we ask for your patience if there's a stray monsoon delay.
Returns & refunds
We follow a no-return, no-exchange policy for hand-poured and customized pieces — full reasoning and the rare exceptions live in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
The short of it: refunds are processed only for verified duplicate transactions. Damaged-in-transit pieces are replaced (not refunded) — send a photo within 48 hours and we'll re-pour.
Our craft is our copyright
The candles, the photographs of them, the website layout, the logo, the brand voice, the handwritten labels — all of it belongs to Artisan House. Borrow our work for personal mood boards, please. Don't reupload it as your own catalogue or commercial content without written permission.
If you'd like to collaborate, feature us, or use our imagery editorially, write to artisanhouse.in@gmail.com — we usually say yes.
What we ask of you
When you use our site, we kindly ask that you don't:
- Use the Website for anything unlawful or harmful
- Provide false names, addresses, or payment details
- Try to break into accounts, scrape our content, or stress-test our checkout
- Interfere with how the Website works for anyone else
If you spot a bug or a security gap — please tell us. We'll thank you with candles.
Limitation of liability
We're a small studio and we try to do right by every order. But to keep things fair, Artisan House isn't liable for:
- Tiny handmade variations between pieces
- Courier delays caused by weather, strikes, or regional disruptions
- Damage caused by misuse — leaving a candle near a curtain, lighting it on a wobbly surface, etc.
- Indirect or consequential losses
In any dispute, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for that specific order.
Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that can't be resolved over a calm WhatsApp conversation will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
We may revise these Terms occasionally as the studio grows. The "last updated" date at the top is always honest, and material changes will be announced before they take effect.
Reach a real person
If anything here feels unclear, please don't guess — ask. We'd rather have a five-minute chat than a misunderstanding.
This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 — no signature needed. By placing an order, you've agreed to it. By writing to us, you've started a conversation.
